Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Durham and the hotel for a four night stay.Day 2 Today you will travel to the picturesque market town of Barnard Castle and to the Bowes Museum with its outstanding collections of art, fashion and design housed in a beautiful French-style public museum, set in gardens and parkland. During your visit we have included a cream tea.
Day 3 Today a guide will join you for a scenic tour through part of the Durham Dales. You will visit the medieval village of Blanchland, a bustling town, and the Durham Dales Centre at Stanhope as you enjoy local hospitality in beautiful surroundings.
Day 4 Firstly you will be taken on a one hour guided tour of Durham’s magnificent cathedral. Discover 2,000 years of history on a journey from the medieval Monks’ dormitory to the monastic Great Kitchen, as the remarkable story of the Northern Saints and Durham cathedral is revealed through the cathedral’s incredible and historic collections. You will then have the rest of the day to explore what the city has to offer.
