Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Chester and the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 Arrive in Chester and meet your local guide for a tour by coach. After the tour the rest of the day is free for you to explore this medieval city.

Day 3 A day excursion where you will first visit Arley Hall and Gardens, a place of enormous character, charm and interest. Visitors are frequently struck by the warm and intimate atmosphere and the feeling that Arley is a much cherished family home. The gardens, which are amongst the finest in Britain, are outstanding for their variety and historical interest. You will then travel to Northwich and the Anderton Boat Lift, where you will board a boat and your guide will take you through the lift and then on a journey down the river to look at the industrial heritage of the area.

Day 4 Today you will visit the Lion Salt Works, a museum housed within a restored historic open-pan salt making site. Go on a journey of discovery through a series of original buildings housing fascinating exhibits that bring to life a salt worker’s day. You will return by way of the award-winning Ice Cream Farm at Tattenhall where you can enjoy a coffee or indulge in one of their ice creams with over 50 flavours to choose from. Returning to Chester for some free time.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
