Itinerary
Itinerary
ItineraryDay 1 Morning departure for the journey to Chester and the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Arrive in Chester’s city centre and meet your local guide for a tour by coach. After the tour the rest of the day is free for you to explore this medieval city.
Day 3 This morning you will travel to Northwich and to the Anderton Boat Lift, where you will board a boat and enjoy a brilliant commentary of the history of the river and the Anderton Lift. The Lift has earned its nickname of Cathedral of the Canals, and was designed to lift boats and barges 50 feet from the River Weaver Navigation to the Trent and Mersey Canal. After the boat ride you can visit the coffee shop or the visitor centre. In the afternoon you will visit Cotebrook Shire House Centre. Set in 50 acres in the heart of the Cheshire countryside and have been breeding Champion Shires for nearly 50 years. You can learn all about the horse from its history to import studwork.
Day 4 Today you will visit the Lion Salt Works, a museum housed within a restored historic open-pan salt making site. Go on a journey of discovery through a series of original buildings housing fascinating exhibits that bring to life a salt worker’s day. On the return we will make a coffee stop at the Ice Cream Farm where you can indulge in an ice cream with over 50 flavours to choose from, or just enjoy a tea or coffee. Returning to Chester for some free time.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
