ItineraryCourtesy of Welcome to YorkshireDay 1 Morning departure for the journey north and to North Ferriby and the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 This morning travel across the Humber Bridge to Grimsby where you can step back in time to experience the height of the fishing industry in the 1950’s at the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre. You will see vivid accounts of the everyday dangers faced by trawler men as you board the magnificent Ross Tiger, thought to be the oldest side-winder fishing trawler in the UK. Afterwards a trip on a historic miniature railway for a 45-minute return journey along the picturesque Humberside Coast with the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway. This trip includes a delicious lunch of fish and chips plus a visit to the smallest pub on the planet, The Signal Box Inn. In the afternoon you will have a scenic drive by way of Louth, through the Lincolnshire Wolds back to the hotel.
Day 3 Enjoy an informal walking tour for an hour of Hull’s compact historic quarter. Wander through the cobbled streets and alleyways with Georgian buildings and rich in reminders of Hull’s fascinating past. In the afternoon, at leisure to soak up the atmosphere and further explore the vibrant mix of culture and shopping this revitalised waterfront city has to offer.
Day 4 Today you will travel to Burton Constable Hall and Gardens, one of East Yorkshire most spectacular historic country houses. With over 30 rooms crammed with fine arts, furniture and many surprises with over 500 years of family history, plus over 300 acres of historic grounds to explore. You will then visit Beverley, with its charming streets and courtyards, gothic Minster – famous for its 13th century stone carvings and stained glass.
