Itinerary
Tyntesfield. © Visit BristolDay 1 Morning departure for the journey to Bitton where you will enjoy a return journey on the Avon Valley Railway with a cream tea before continuing to the hotel for a four night stay.Day 2 Today travel to the Clifton Observatory, where you can explore the museum and discover its hidden secrets and vast heritage. The Observatory has the best view of the nearby Clifton Suspension Bridge, spanning the Avon Gorge, originally designed by Brunel and completed after his death. Afterwards you will visit Tyntesfield, an ornate Victorian Gothic Revival house, richly decorated and furnished with a collection of over 72,000 objects, with extensive garden and parkland, just a stone's throw from Bristol.
Day 3 Today you will transfer to Bristol to enjoy a day at leisure and explore the many attractions Bristol has to offer including many museums and galleries. Stroll along the waterfront and perhaps visit SS Great Britain or Arnolfini, one of Europe’s leading centres for the contemporary arts, or just shop. We have included a boat trip with commentary detailing the fascinating history of Bristol Docks and surrounding area whilst enjoying a cream tea.
Day 4 A visit to Berkeley Castle – a Norman castle with a great hall, dungeon, kitchens, drawing rooms, tapestries, silver, fine furniture and paintings. There are also beautiful gardens to explore. You will return to the hotel late afternoon.
