Our fantastic packaged tour takes you into the beautiful Black Forest, the setting for many a Grimm Brother’s fairy-tales where picturesque villages full of half-timbered houses dot the landscape and cuckoo clocks keep an eye on the time.

Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey to Dover and the sea crossing to Calais. Continuing the journey through France to your overnight stop in the Metz area.
Day 2 Today you will travel to Strasbourg, the capital and largest city of the Grand Est in the historic Alsace region. You will have time to explore the city and have lunch before continuing to Bad Dürrheim and the hotel for a stay of five nights.
Day 3 The day tour today takes you south into the most northerly region of Switzerland. Here you will experience the drama and beauty of the magnificent Rhine Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in Europe. Afterwards you will visit the nearby medieval town of Schaffhausen to explore at leisure. Known as the prettiest town in Switzerland, the houses of the pedestrianised Old Town are richly decorated with oriel windows and lavishly painted facades, while the iconic Munot Fortress towers above the town and which can be seen for miles.
Day 4 Today you will travel towards Lake Constance and visit Mainau Island, known for its botanical gardens, the Castle of the Teutonic Order, its Butterfly House and Palm House. We have included a 90 minute tour of the gardens to learn about the history, the botany and other interesting facts about the island and you will have time to wander round yourselves before travelling the short distance to Constance, a town of great historical relevance and the most important on Lake Constance to spend some time at leisure.
Day 5 A free day where you can relax in this fabulous spa resort, making the most of the lovely leisure facilities. You might also like to stretch your legs and explore Bad Dürrheim town centre which is about a 10 minute walk away.
Day 6 This morning you will travel to the north shore of Lake Titisee, one of Germany’s prettiest lakes. You will then join the roman galley – ‘Titus’ to enjoy an idyllic 25 minute cruise on the lake, and the ship’s captain will tell you interesting facts and details about the lake and its surroundings. Afterwards time to explore the town of Titisee-Neustadt. Next stop will be Triberg for free time to explore. Known for its traditional wood carving shops and cuckoo clocks, this vibrant town also boasts an informative Black Forest Museum and a picturesque 17th century church, both of which are worth visiting and if you fancy taking home a cuckoo clock, visit the House of 1000 Clocks, where you will definitely have lots to choose from.
Day 7 Time to depart the beautiful Black Forest and make your way back into France and the Metz area for an overnight stop.
Day 8 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
