Best Of The Peak District

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the hotel in Mickleover, Derby for a four night stay.

Day 2 Morning visit to the market town of Bakewell, idyllically situated on the banks of the river Wye, and the biggest town in the Peak District National Park. Be sure to have a coffee and one of the famous Bakewell puddings. This afternoon you will travel to Chatsworth House, the family home of the Duke of Devonshire. Discover rooms filled with Christmas wonder and the sights, sounds and scents of the festive season.
*NB: Please note selected rooms on the upper floor of the house will be closed for annual conservation.

Day 3 Step back in time today at the Crich Tramway Village, where vintage trams transport you along the traditional village street into open countryside with breathtaking views of the Derwent Valley. In the afternoon, travel the short distance to Cromford Mills, the first water powered cotton spinning mill and the centre-piece of the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 4 This morning travel to Tissington, a picture book village and home to the splendid Jacobean residence of Tissington Hall, home of the Fitzherbert family for over 400 years. Afternoon visit to the old market town of Ashbourne, with more than 200 listed buildings, fine coaching inns and mellow bricked town houses.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
