Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Dover and the sea crossing to Calais and then to Bruges for a four night stay.Day 2 A free day to explore this wonderful city. Take a horse-drawn carriage ride around the historic winding streets with commentary, or alternatively see the beauty of the city from the water with a 30 minute boat trip. The market square is overlooked by the Belfry Tower, the most imposing in Belgium with 300 steps to the summit! The Stadhuis (city hall), is on Burg Square, and is one of the oldest city halls in the Low Countries.
Day 3 Depart the hotel and head for Tyne Cot, the largest and most famous of the British and Commonwealth cemeteries before travelling to Ypres, where you could visit the excellent ‘In Flanders Fields Museum’ located in the Cloth Hall. This moving museum now makes use of the latest technology in its portrayal of the history of the Great War. Time at leisure before returning to Bruges.
Day 4 A short day for a drive along the coast from Knokke-Heist to Blankenberg where a stop will be made for a coffee and some free time before continuing on to Ostend, one of Belgium’s most popular seaside resorts. Take a stroll along the seafront and marina and enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey. Back to top
