Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey to Dover and the ferry crossing to Calais and on to Forbach (or similar) for an overnight stop.Day 2 The journey will continue into Austria and to the hotel in Thiersee for a five night stay.
Day 3Lake Achensee & Schatzberg cable car - After breakfast you visit Lake Achensee, whose tranquil waters provide an emerald green stage for the mountains. Admire the fascinating landscape during a leisurely boat trip across the lake. After some free time you will visit the dramatic scenery of the Tyrolean mountains which dominates the landscape and never fails to impress. Lush alpine meadows and forests give way to steep, jagged cliffs and snowy gorges, all seemingly within reach. We have included a ride on the Schatzberg cable car to an altitude of over 1,780 metres. At the Schatzberg Cross, a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains of the Wildschönau and the Alpbachtal opens up. Return to your hotel for dinner.
Day 4 Innsbruck & Tyrolean folklore evening – Enjoy the morning in the village and after lunch visit the beautiful city of Innsbruck. Here, start a guided city tour through the old town with its “Golden Roof,” the Hofburg, former residence of the ruling Habsburgs and the pretty Maria Theresien Street with its stylish shops where you will have some free time for strolling around. Afterwards you return to the hotel for dinner, and then you will experience a traditional Tyrolean folklore evening with live music and dance! A great evening of entertainment and fun is awaiting you!
Day 5 Tyrolean Alm Festival - The alpine festivals take place every year in autumn in the Tyrolean villages. The cattle, who have spent the summer months on the alpine pastures, return to the valley, festively decorated. The healthy return of the farmers and their cattle is celebrated in the village. The local brass band plays, costume groups in traditional lederhosen and pretty dirndl clothes perform, and handicrafts and culinary delicacies are offered at the market stalls. At lunchtime the decorated cattle are expected in the village – the highlight of the Alm Festival. Join in the fun and experience this truly festive occasion in Tyrolean style. You will return to the hotel mid-afternoon.
Day 6 Farm, cheese dairy & distillery Oberndorf & Kitzbühel - After breakfast visit and get a tour of a cheese dairy, and get to know the country life better. Learn also more about the production of the Tyrolean “firewater” at the distillery. Samples (tasting) of the regional delicacies will not be missing and of course you will also have the opportunity to buy souvenirs for your loved ones. Continue to Kitzbühel, the city of the rich and famous. Kitzbühel is known everywhere for the legendary Hahnenkamm ski races on the Streif. The city has a lot more to offer, and the city centre is characterized by stylish, colorful facades and cobblestone streets. Take a stroll through the pedestrian zone and follow in the footsteps of Kitzbühel legends. Finally return to your hotel for dinner.
Day 7 Unfortunately it is time to leave Thiersee for the journey back into France to the overnight stop in Forbach (or similar).
Day 8 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
