Holiday ItineraryDay 1 Early morning departure for the journey to Dover and the ferry crossing to Calais and on to Forbach (or similar) for an overnight stop.
Day 2 The journey will continue into Austria and to the hotel in Thiersee for a five night stay.
Day 3Lake Achensee and cheese dairy - you will visit Lake Achensee, whose tranquil waters provide an emerald green stage for the mountains. Admire the fascinating landscape during a leisurely boat trip across the lake. After some free time, you will visit the cheese dairy in Fügen. The life of the dairy farmers, whose farms are high up in the mountains, is still physically hard and time-consuming work. But it is the only way to produce milk that is healthy and natural. After an interesting tour through the dairy, you can enjoy the fresh products and of course buy them in the farm shop to take home as souvenirs.
Day 4 Innsbruck & Tyrolean folklore evening – Enjoy the morning in the village and after lunch visit the beautiful city of Innsbruck. Here, start a guided city tour through the old town with its “Golden Roof,” the Hofburg, former residence of the ruling Habsburgs and the pretty Maria Theresien Street with its stylish shops where you will have some free time for strolling around. Afterwards you return to the hotel for dinner, and then you will experience a traditional Tyrolean folklore evening with live music and dance! A great evening of entertainment and fun is awaiting you!
Day 5 Tyrolean Alm Festival - The alpine festivals take place every year in autumn in the Tyrolean villages. The cattle, who have spent the summer months on the alpine pastures, return to the valley, festively decorated. The healthy return of the farmers and their cattle is celebrated in the village. The local brass band plays, costume groups in traditional lederhosen and pretty dirndl clothes perform, and handicrafts and culinary delicacies are offered at the market stalls. At lunchtime the decorated cattle are expected in the village – the highlight of the Alm Festival. Join in the fun and experience this truly festive occasion in Tyrolean style. You will return to the hotel mid-afternoon.
Day 6 Farm visit, Kitzbühel and Distillery - During a tour of a Tyrolean farm, you will get to know the country life, with samples of the regional delicacies to be tried and of course you will also have the opportunity to buy souvenirs. Continue to Kitzbühel, the city of the rich and famous. Kitzbühel is known everywhere for the legendary Hahnenkamm ski races on the Streif. The city centre is characterized by stylish, colourful facades and cobblestone streets. Take a stroll through the pedestrian zone and follow in the footsteps of Kitzbühel legends. Continue to a distillery and learn more about the production of the Tyrolean “firewater”. Of course, a tasting is also offered, before returning to the hotel.
Day 7 Unfortunately it is time to leave Thiersee for the journey back into France to the overnight stop in Forbach (or similar).
Day 8 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
