Itinerary

ItineraryDay 1 Morning departure for the journey to Kent and to Ashford to the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 This morning you will head to Deal and to Walmer Castle, originally a Tudor fortress which became the residence of famous names from the Duke of Wellington to the Queen Mother. Time to explore the house and eight acres of award-winning gardens. You will then travel to Tenterden, known as the ‘Jewel of the Weald’ which offers fascinating history, a wealth of architecture and excellent shopping where you will find that special gift, local craft or antique.

Day 3 This morning you will visit the Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, an intriguing mix of historic and traditional planting. Discover the Jungle, the Rose Walk, the Walled Garden, the Orchard Sweep and visit the view point with a stunning outlook. A fascinating ‘must-see’ visit. You will then visit the Winterdale Cheese Farm for a guided tour of the dairy and cave, followed by cheese tasting and cream tea, before returning to the hotel.

Day 4 Today you will head to Mount Ephraim Gardens, a privately-owned family home comprising of over 800 acres of woodland, pasture and a fruit farm. At the heart of the estate lies the main house with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Stroll through the Edwardian gardens, terraces of fragrant roses and small lake. Afterwards you will depart for Canterbury which boasts some of England’s finest medieval architecture, including one of its oldest cathedrals.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey by way of a scenic drive along the coast.
