Wild Atlantic Way 7 Days - Westport Woods Hotel
Westport is a town in County Mayo in Ireland, at the south-east corner of Clew Bay. Westport is a popular tourist destination and scores highly for quality of life.The most notable feature of this town plan is the tree-lined boulevard, the Mall, built on the Carrowbeg River. This little town with its picturesque views is the perfect place from which to explore.

Day 1 - Outward travel - Holyhead to Dublin
We’ll travel out with Stena from Holyhead to Dublin at 14.45 and make our way straight to the Adair Arms Hotel situated in the centre of the bustling town of Ballymena. /n
Day 2 - Bridgit's Garden
Relax in Brigit’s Garden en route, a haven of wildflower meadows and native woodland, the four themed landscaped gardens are ringed with pools, flowers and standing stones symbolising Celtic seasons. We’ll continue on to arrive at the Westport Woods Hotel situated in the harbour town of Westport, standing in the shadow of Croagh Patrick./n
Day 3 - Killary Fjord Cruise, Connemara National Park, Abbey of Kylemore
Today we step aboard for a 90 minute fully guided cruise on the Killary Fjord; a great way to enjoy stunning views, spot grey and harbour seals in their natural habitat and perhaps enjoy a close up encounter with a dolphin. Afterwards there’ll be a drive through Connemara National Park for a kaleidoscope of colours ranging from scenic mountains, grasslands and heaths to the gentle shores of lakes. Our last visit of the day will be to the beautiful Abbey of Kylemore, the only Irish home of Benedictine nuns where you can enjoy its Victorian walled gardens and discover tales of romance and tragedy at the visitors centre. /n
Day 4 - Achill Island, Village of Slievemore, Westport
It’s time for a guided tour of the peat bogs and mountains of Achill Island, famous for towering sea cliffs and sandy beaches. We’ll also discover the ruined castle of a pirate Queen and the deserted village at Slievemore, the eighty stone cottages are a haunting reminder of past times. In the afternoon, spend free time in Westport, packed with colourful shop fronts and home to the legendary Matt Malloy’s Pub. A short walk away is the 18th century Palladian mansion of Westport House, one of Ireland’s most beautiful historic homes. We’ll return to the hotel to enjoy a demonstration on how to achieve the perfect two‐part pull of Guinness pint and have a drink. /n
Day 5 - Galway, Connemara Crystal
Today it’s free time in Galway, a brightly painted historic harbour town where the winding lanes of the Latin Quarter are bursting at the seams with cosy little pubs alive with music. The ancient capital of West Ireland boasts highlights such as the famous Spanish Arch, cobbled medieval alleyways and the impressive stone cathedral on the banks of the River Corrib. Next come and meet the master craftsmen at one of the few remaining crystal factories in Ireland and watch unique Celtic designs come to life at Connemara Crystal, see Claddagh, Shamrock and Celtic Knotwork being created on crystal using traditional stone cutting‐wheels. /n
Day 6 - Dublin
In the morning we’ll leave Westport Woods Hotel and return to the fair city of Dublin to meet our guide for a tour of this remarkable vibrant place. Cross the Ha’Penny Bridge, see the Book of Kells at Trinity College. Then spend free time in Dublin – perhaps visit the Guinness Brewery, home of the original Guinness to enjoy a tasting and tour. Later we will have time for a shopping experience second to none, a visit to the cosmopolitan shops on Grafton and O’Connell Street is not to be missed. If this isn’t your thing, round off your Irish experience with a drink or two and enjoy a warm welcome in one of the many traditional pubs. We'll stay overnight in Dublin./n
Day 7 - Return journey - Dublin -Holyhead
Today we’ll continue our return journey by catching the morning ferry at 8:45 Stena Dublin to Holyhead with breakfast./n
