Tuesday (Alias Christmas Eve) Full Day Excursion to Bath
Today we visit the elegant city of Bath, a spa resort in Roman times, which then became the height of fashion during the 18th Century. Spanning nearly 2,000 years of history, Bath stands on the River Avon and reflects the glories of Roman and Georgian times. The Roman Baths are still fed by the City's unique hot springs beneath the Pump Room. There is a fine medieval abbey, the magnificent Georgian architecture in Royal Crescent and fine shopping streets bedecked with flowers. The American Museum in Britain (located near the University of Bath in an area of outstanding natural beauty) provides a journey through the history of America with a number of interesting collections. In addition to the permanent Period Room displays, the basement has a new permanent American Heritage Exhibition. Each year the museum also presents a special temporary exhibition in the Exhibition Gallery. There are a number of other museums including the Museum of Costume, National Centre of Photography, and the Postal Museum. We return to our hotel in time for dinner after which the evening is filled with dancing and entertainment.

Take time to visit Vicar's Close, claimed to be Europe's most complete medieval street. Our journey back to Weston takes us to Cheddar, famous for the Gorge and the highest inland cliffs in the country. Back at the hotel enjoy a pre-lunch glass of punch followed by Grand Boxing Day Lunch. Free afternoon followed by dinner and fancy dress farewell dance (please bring a costume).
