Teignmouth 5 Days - Cliffden Hotel
A fascinating ancient port with a myriad of narrow streets, Teignmouth became a popular resort with the coming of the railways. The busy port on the River Teign contrasts with the wide open sands and traditional pier of the sea-ward side of the town. Genteel pursuits such as bowls, crazy golf and open-air swimming at the Lido are popular with today’s holidaymakers.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
This historic property, set in extensive landscaped grounds that lead to the seafront, was originally built in 1815 as a lavish private residence for Sir John Strachan, chief of the Clan Strachan. The hotel was for many years owned by guide dog charities and has been thoughtfully adapted for use by guests with sight difficulties. All 47 ensuite rooms offer hairdryer, TV, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.
