Severn & Wye Rivers & R'ways 5 Days - Paddocks
Our tour is based in Symonds Yat, a small village in what is arguably the loveliest location in one of Britain's loveliest valleys, the Wye Valley. The scenic location of Symonds Yat, in a wooded gorge, offers a relaxing base from which to explore this enchanting area.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Day 1 - Outward Travel
Day 2 - Full Day - Wye Valley Cruise and Monmouth
We start our scenic cruise near to our hotel in Symond's Yat./nThroughout the sailing, the informative commentary reveals the hidden history of the Wye Valley./nThe birthplace of Henry V, Monmouth is a picturesque market town./nThere are many historic buildings such as the Shire Hall and Gatehouse Bridge./nThe pedestrianised streets offer a wealth of intriguing boutiques. /n
Day 3 - Full Day - Severn Valley Railway & Ludlow
We visit the charming Shropshire market town of Ludlow./nThe delightful architecture includes an ancient castle and timber framed buildings./nThe Severn Valley Railway (fare included in tour cost) is a full-size heritage railway line between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth./n
Day 4 - Full Day - Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway & Broadway
The 'Jewel of the Cotswolds', Broadway lies beneath Fish Hill on the western Cotswold escarpment./nHoney coloured limestone buildings line the main street, the 'Broad Way'./nThe Gordon Russell Design Museum (entry fee may apply) celebrates the work of this famous furniture designer./nThe heritage Gloucs & Warks Railway (fare included in tour cost) runs from Broadway towards Cheltenham./nThe railway is part of a restored Great Western main line. /nA gentle trip through the glorious Cotswold countryside and you have the prescription for a perfect day out. /n
Day 5 - Return Travel
Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with meadows leading down to the banks of the River Wye. The comfortably furnished lounge and bar areas overlook the river and gorge with splendid views. All bedrooms have private bath or shower and WC, TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Entertainment is provided on two evenings. No lift, but there are entrances to both the ground and middle floors. Please note this hotel is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
