The ancient city walls rival those of York or Chester, while the spectacular castle is includes a royal palace and chapel, military museum and a gallery of important oak carvings. Our tour visits Scotland�s modern capital, Edinburgh, where we are guided on a tour of the city and we tour the Royal Yacht Britannia. We also experience Scone Palace, crowning palace of Scottish kings since the 9th century, most recently rebuilt in 1808 in the Georgian Gothic style.

Scotlands most historic stately home was once the seat of the Pictish kings and was the palace of investiture of Robert the Bruce and Macbeth. We also visit the grand city of Perth, another of Scotland�s former capitals.

Dating back to 1854, The Stirling Highland Hotel, housed in a former monastery and grammar school, still features an ancient observatory in its handsome red-brick Victorian building.
