Lying at the foot of the Grampians, Blairgowrie ("Plain of Gowrie" in Scottish Gaelic) has been occupied continuously since the Neolithic period: numerous flint and bronze artefacts have been found in the immediate area. The town's centrepiece is the Wellmeadow, a grassy triangle on which regular markets and shows are held. Blairgowrie Golf Club, founded in 1889, has two 18 hole courses and a 9 hole course. Highland Games are held annually on Bogles Field and are noted for the mass tug o'war between the entire populations of Blairgowrie and Rattray.

Day 3 - Pitlochry
Queen Victoria is said to have been one of the earliest holidaymakers to have discovered the beauty of Pitlochry./nThis picturesque riverside town has many independent shops and cafés for relaxing./nThe Atholl Palace Hotel Museum gives a glimpse into what it was like some 140 years ago when Pitlochry's largest Scottish Baronial Architectural Style Hotel was built (Entrance fees apply)./n
Day 4 - Full Day - Glamis & Dundee
Glamis (pronounced Glahms) is home to a range of 18th century cottages which make it an outstanding conservation area./nGlamis Castle was the childhood home of the late Queen Mother and the legendary setting for Shakespeare's play, 'Macbeth'./nIt is believed that King Malcolm II of Scotland was murdered on the site of Glamis Castle in 1034. Nearby is a an old carved stone believed to mark his burial site./nDundee is Scotland's fourth-largest city and in 2014 it was recognised by the United Nations as the UK's first UNESCO City of Design. /nBuilt in 1833, Verdant Works is the last working jute mill in Scotland and gives visitors a vivid appreciation of life in the mills and factories (Entrance fees apply)./nDundee Museum of Transport tells the stories of local transport pioneers as well as displaying vehicles from local and national collections (Entrance fees apply)./n
