FIVE DAY (FOUR NIGHT) TOUR
Full Day Excursion to Bateman's
Preserved as it was decorated and furnished at the time to Kipling's death in 1936, including his writing desk, pipe and paperweight, this relatively modest Jacobean mansion and its surroundings inspired many works of poetry and prose (entrance included in the tour cost). On our return we make a brief visit to Bexhill.
Full Day Excursion to Michelham Priory
Dating back almost 800 years, this former Augustine monastery (entrance included in the tour cost) was converted to a Tudor manor house following the dissolution, and later served as a WW2 evacuation centre. This varied history and the extensive moat feeding a restored water mill, make for a fascinating day out. On our return we make a brief stop at Alfriston.
