The picturesque town of Melrose is located next to the River Tweed at foot of the triple peaks of the Eildon Hills; a distinctive landmark of the Scottish Borders. The area around Melrose is thought to have been inhabited for thousands of years with the Romans arriving in AD79 or 80 and building a fort nearby named Trimontium; 'Place of the Three Hills’. The Three Hills Roman Heritage Centre houses the Trimontium Museum which is dedicated to Roman life in Scotland. Melrose Abbey lies to the North East side of the centre of the town. With an abundance of independent shops and cafes, there is ample things to do whilst visiting this pretty little town.

Day 1 - Outward Travel - Festive Specials

Day 2 - Excursion to Edinburgh
Enjoy a trip to capital Edinburgh. Admire the majestic castle, stroll along the Royal Mile or perhaps hit the shops on Princes Street - there's so much to see and do!/n
Day 3 - Alias Christmas Day
Day 4 - Kelso & Berwick-upon-Tweed
We venture into bonny Border Country today with visits to the welcoming market town of Kelso, known for its associations with Mary Queen of Scots. We then continue on to the historic Berwick-upon-Tweed, located on the border with River Tweed flowing through the centre. The town walls, castle and ramparts and winding, cobbled streets all hold tales of the town’s turbulent past. /n
