Llandudno & Portmerion 5 Days - Hydro Hotel

  • Duration: 5 days
  • Board Basis: Half Board
  • Tour Ref: D2TALFD5351A

Holiday Summary

  • Travel Type: Coach

Situated on a sandy isthmus between the Great Orme and Little Orme Heads, Llandudno boasts two superb beaches. The shingly North Shore is the busier of the two with its Victorian Pier, boat trips, donkey rides, Punch and Judy shows and much more. The sandy West Shore is quieter with miles of sands and panoramic views of the Snowdonia mountain range in the distance. Llandudno is a highly attractive resort with its magnificent crescent of hotels, broad tree-lined streets and elegant shops all combining to produce a unique atmosphere. There are two golf courses. A tramway and cable car both offer a route to the summit of the Great Orme (which also boasts a superb dry ski slope - one of the best in Britain). There is plenty to do both by day and by night and you are sure never to have a dull moment at what many would claim to be the most complete of all British holiday resorts.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Outward Travel

Day 2 - Day at Leisure

Day 3 - Full day to Portmeirion & Porthmadog
The unique village of Portmeirion is set on its own peninsula on the southern shores of Snowdonia. Its dreamlike Italianate quality made it the setting for the famous TV series The Prisoner. There are lovely gardens and fascinating vistas at every turn. We return to the coast at Porthmadog, a harbour town with a long maritime history and arguably Britain’s narrow gauge railway capital with stations on both the Ffestiniog and the Welsh Highland Railways./n

Day 4 - Caernarfon & Snowdonia National Park
We start the day with a visit to historic Caernarfon, dominated by its imposing Norman Castle where the redeveloped harbour bustles with sailing boats and motor yachts. We then venture into Snowdonia National Park making stops in beautiful Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon and charming Betws-y-Coed./n
