Bowness-on-Windermere is a bustling tourist town on the shores of Lake Windermere. As the most popular visitor destination in the Lake District, the town is busy for pretty much all of the year with people visiting to enjoy water-sports on the lake or to simply relax and soak up the atmosphere of the area and the picturesque surroundings.

Day 1 - Outward Travel
Day 2 - Full Day - Kendal & Grange over Sands
Grange over Sands was a fashionable Victorian resort town and attracts a multitude of birdlife to its fertile shoreline./nThe market town of Kendal is the third largest in Cumbria after Carlisle and Barrow-in-Furness. /nIts beautiful cobbled streets and gorgeous little pubs make it an interesting town to spend time and wander around. /nIt is known mainly as a centre of tourism in the South Lake District and the home of Kendal mint cake. /n
Day 3 - Full Day - Lakeside Railway & Windermere Cruise
We join the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway and journey through the Leven valley to the south end of Windermere./nThe scenic journey passes through woodland, with views of parts of the lake and large open meadows. /n(railway journey included in tour cost)/nWindermere is England's largest lake./nTake in the breathtaking views of the mountain ranges and fells along the lakeside./n
