The Isle of Wight has a great deal to offer with many superb sandy beaches, mile upon mile of stunning countryside and coastal walks and all the usual modern holiday facilities in the resorts. Sandown is the island's principal resort, and offers a wealth of entertainments. Sandown Bay is the largest on the island and offers a long, safe, sandy beach framed at either end by stunning white cliffs contrasting with the rich blue sea. On the High Street you will find a wide variety of wonderful shops. Dinosaur Isle offers life-like dinosaur models and skeletons. There is also a traditional pier. In addition, Sandown boasts Brown's Pleasure Park, swimming and squash at the Heights Leisure Centre and a fascinating Geological Museum. There are plenty of evening entertainments to suit all tastes. Nearby Brading has a Roman Villa complete with mosaic floors.

Day 1 - Outward Travel


Day 2 - Full Day - Rosemary Vineyard & Ryde
Rosemary Vineyard is the island’s largest vineyard./nA tour around the vineyard and working winery are included in your tour cost./nWatch the pressing, filtering and bottling process in action before sampling the end product!/nShop-lined Union Street slopes gently down to the beach and prom./nRoyal Victoria Arcade houses fashion boutiques, antique shops and a market in the old cellars./nExplore the harbour, theatre, putting greens, swimming pool and ice-skating arena./n

Day 5 - Full Day - Alum Bay & Godshill
Famed for its multi-colour sand cliffs./nHome of the 'Needles' rocks and lighthouse. /nThe 'free admission' Needles Pleasure Park offers a chair-lift ride to the beach (fees may apply for individual rides)/nThe picture-postcard village of Godshill includes an imposing church and thatched cottages. /nIn the churchyard lie several unusual monuments./nLocal attractions include a model village (entry fees may apply)./n

Day 6 - Full Day - Osborne House, Whippingham Church and Ryde
Queen Victoria’s spectacular hideaway is situated near Ryde./nThe state and private apartments are preserved almost exactly as when Victoria died there in 1901. /nExtensive gardens with a collection of rare trees and a full-size Swiss chalet./nused by Queen Victoria. Much of the design was inspired by Prince Albert, including Norman and Gothic Arches, a German style Lantern Tower and Rose Windows copied from Notre Dame. Bayshore Hotel
Situated in a magnificent position on the seafront, opposite the beach and pier and close to the shopping centre, the Bayshore Hotel is a popular choice for coach holidays to Sandown. All 77 bedrooms are centrally heated with TV, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities and private bath or shower and WC. The hotel has a light and spacious bar and lounge area with a large dance floor where entertainment is provided most evenings. There is a sun lounge and attractive restaurant overlooking the sea and a games room. Free WiFi in public areas. Lift serves all floors (a few stairs on split level floors).
