Ripon is a beautiful market town that was founded over 1300 years ago and is famous as an old Cathedral City where monasteries have stood since the 7th Century./nHome to many historical buildings and museums such as the Cathedral, the Wakeman’s House, Studley Royal, Fountains Abbey and Ripon Spa Gardens (entry fees may apply)./nThe Cathedral allows visitors to soak up the atmosphere and architecture, enjoy special music, explore the ancient crypt or perhaps light a candle in memory of a loved one./n
Day 6 - Full Day - York
York's medieval walls were built by Henry III around 1220. Some stretches can be walked on today (steep stairs)./nYork's Minster (entry fee applies) is the largest medieval cathedral in England - it took over 250 years to complete. /nThere are museums of Roman, Viking and medieval history (charges apply), as well as many interesting shops in "The Shambles"./n
