Fort William & The Jacobite 8 Days - Croit Anna

UK & Ireland
  • Duration: 8 days
  • Board Basis: Half Board
  • Tour Ref: D2TALF436EC

Holiday Summary

  • Travel Type: Coach

Described as the greatest railway journey in the world, this 84 mile round trip takes you past a list of impressive extremes. Starting near the highest mountain in Britain, Ben Nevis, it visits Britain's most westerly mainland railway station, Arisaig; passes close by the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar and the shortest river in Britain, River Morar, finally arriving next to the deepest seawater loch in Europe, Loch Nevis.

Our journey takes us across the 21-arched Glenfinnan viaduct, as seen the Harry Potter films which overlooks Loch Shiel and the Jacobite monument. Beyond Glenfinnan are the beautiful villages of Lochailort, Arisaig and Morar and we travel past Morar and the silvery beaches used in a number of famous films. Our destination is Mallaig, a port in Lochabar, where you can watch the ferries going to and from the Scottish islands, enjoy some freshly caught seafood, or browse the craft shops, before re-boarding the Jacobite to return to Fort William.
