Day 1 - Outward Travel


Day 2 - Full day to Durham
Dominated by the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Cathedral and Castle, Durham is an iconic English city with cobbled streets, historic attractions and beautiful riverside walks. /n

Day 3 - Full day to Beamish Open Air Museum
This world-famous open air museum brings the history of the North East to life as it was in the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s and 1950s! Explore the 1900s Town, the Pit Village, the 1950s Farm and beautiful 1820s Pockerley with its new and old houses, magnificent gardens and glorious Georgian landscape. There really is something here for everyone!/n

Day 4 - Full Day Northumberland Coast & Warkworth
An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretching 100 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed to the Coquet Estuary at Warkworth, is an area filled with some of the country’s most important historic and cultural sites and some of the most dramatic coastal scenery to be found in the country. Isolated castles dot the landscape as we enjoy the route along the coast before stopping for a while in Warkworth. The high street here is framed by a 12th Century church and a magnificent ruined castle – this ancient village is a must see on the North East Coast./n

Caledonian Hotel
Located in the heart of Jesmond, a cosmopolitan area of Newcastle with many restaurants, bars and boutiques, about one mile from Newcastle’s city centre, the Caledonian is a comfortable hotel with a friendly feel. There is a small lounge area near the reception, whilst the Billabong Bar and Bistro offers a pleasant atmosphere throughout the day. The public areas have stylish contemporary decor with wooden flooring whilst all 90 bedrooms are modern and have bath or shower, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities.
