The long beach front, historic buildings and range of entertainment facilities make Bridlington a fantastic destination on the Yorkshire Coast. Bridlington Old Town is traditional Yorkshire in a nutshell. Packed with attractive antique shops and restaurants, the Old Town was the setting for the Dad’s Army film. The delightful mix of brick and stone buildings, colourful shop fronts, popular cafés and individual shops provide a relaxing environment for shopping or strolling. Entertainment and art galleries are housed in the refurbished Spa Centre on the seafront. A network of land-trains transports guests around the town, along the front, and as far afield as Sewerby Hall and Gardens, a delightful stately home owned and managed by East Riding Council.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Outward Travel


Day 2 - Full day to North York Moors Railway & Whitby
We travel inland along the southern edge of the North York Moors to Pickering with its magnificent 12th century castle. We join the North York Moors Railway, where we settle back in our carriages and enjoy a scenic journey through the enchanting North Yorkshire Moors National Park. We then enjoy some free time in Whitby, famous for its fish and chips and rich history as a whaling port and links to Dracula. Situated on the banks of the River Esk, you can head over the swing bridge and climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, or relax on the golden sands of Whitby’s blue flag beach./n

Day 3 - Full day to York
Today we visit York, a vibrant festival city with Roman roots and a Viking past, offering an adventure for everyone. York boasts a wealth of places to visit including the Roman walls, the famous York Minster, the National Railway Museum and the fascinating Jorvik Viking Centre (entrance fees may apply). You can take a stroll down the Shambles, one of the best preserved medieval streets in Europe, believed to be the inspiration for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter films. /n

Day 6 - Full day to Scarborough
Today we head north to the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough. The town’s two bays are divided by a dramatic headland with its ruined medieval castle. With plenty to see and do there is something for everyone; visit Scarborough Castle or Peaseholm Park, with its Japanese gardens and boating lake, take a ride on the North Bay Railway or on one of the many local boats, from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the resort (entrance fees may apply)./n

Monarch Hotel
The Monarch Hotel is situated in a prime position on Bridlington's seafront close to Bridlington Spa. The resort's flat promenade offers a relaxing stroll into town. Guests can enjoy panoramic sea views from the restaurant and bar. Ground floor resident's lounge included. Entertainment room with dance floor. All 51 bedrooms are en-suite with Freeview TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Lift serves all floors apart from the 6th floor. any guest would need to negotiate 15 steps to access this floor from the fifth floor. Please ensure you submit a special requirements form if you have any mobility difficulties which may affect your holiday. Limited free car parking.
