Kendal is no ordinary market town. Full of historic character, Kendal is home to an interweaving web or alleyways and pretty cobbled yards. The ruins of Kendal Castle stand on Castle Hill providing great views over the town and into the countryside beyond. It is the perfect base for our tour where we explore nearby Keswick, Grasmere and Bowness-on-Windermere as well as enjoying a scenic cruise on Lake Windermere itself.

Day 1 - Outward Travel


Day 2 - Full Day Bowness-on-Windermere, Cruise & Ambleside
We start the day with a visit to Bowness-on-Windermere, the village that hugs the shore of Lake Windermere. This popular destination is home to a range of independent shops, quaint tea rooms and, of course, Beatrix Potter attractions. There will be some free time to explore before we take to the waters and enjoy a cruise on Lake Windermere to the bustling town of Ambleside. We’ll have some free time here to explore – perhaps admire the iconic Bridge House, one of the most photographed places in the Lake District./n

Day 3 - Day at Leisure


Day 4 - Full Day to Keswick & Grasmere
Venture into the spectacular scenery of the Northern Lakelands as we visit Keswick, situated on the shores of Derwentwater and overlooked by Cat Bells. This pretty market town is a hive of activity with charming shops and cafes that lead down to the beautiful waters’ edge. We then make our way through the make our way to the quaint village of Grasmere which lies at the very heart of the National Park. Follow your nose to Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread Shop situated in the grounds of the parish church – still made to a secret recipe!/n

Day 5 - Return Travel
