Itinerary
Day 1 - Outward Travel from Cairnryan
We’ll travel out on the late afternoon ferry with P&O from Cairnryan to Belfast and make our way straight to the Adair Arms Hotel situated in the centre of the bustling town of Ballymena. /n
Day 2 - Full Day - Belfast tour, Titanic tour, and Free time to explore
In the morning, we’ll discover the terrible icy end of the tragic Titanic on a visit to the legendary Harland and Wolff shipyard, now a remembrance museum and monument to the maritime heritage of the city. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the highlights of Belfast at leisure to explore the rich history, world class museums and learn about how the Peace Process came about. We’ll return to the hotel for some live music in the evening./n
Day 3 - Full Day - Bushmills Distillery and Giants causeway
We’ll start the day off with a tour of the quaint whitewashed Bushmills Distillery for a fun guided tour to see how the best Irish whiskey is made before travelling on a short journey along the coast to see stunning Giant’s Causeway where around 40,000 basalt blocks tumble down from the cliffs into the deep Atlantic Ocean. We’ll return to the hotel where you’ll discover the authentic way to make Irish Coffee under expert tuition and then the chance to sample it yourself./n
Day 4 - Full Day - Mountains of Mourne, St Patrick Centre, Cathedral of Down
We’ll start our guided tour at Downpatrick and the last resting place of St Patrick, St Brigid and St Colmcille at the medieval Cathedral of Down before delving into Irish myth and legend at the Saint Patrick Centre. We’ll move on to Newcastle for some shopping and a stroll along the Promenade where you can view the beautiful Mountains of Mourne sweeping down to meet the sea before continuing southwards to explore the romantic and naturally magnificent Mourne area to complete this breathtakingly scenic day. /n
Day 5 - Return Journey from Belfast
In the morning we’ll start our return journey taking the Stena ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan with breakfast on board. /n
