The King and I Returns to London in 2018
Set in Bangkok in the 1860s, The King and I tells the story of an unexpected romance between the King of Siam and a British School Teacher. It features classic songs including ‘Getting to Know You’, ‘Shall we Dance’ and ‘Whistle a Happy Tune.’
The lead cast from the Broadway version of the show will transferring to play in London run – this will be lead cast members Kelli O’Hara and Ken Watanabe.
It has been 18 years since the production was last revived at the Palladium in 1999 starring Elaine Page and Jason Scott Lee. The musical will celebrate its 65th anniversary since it opened in London next year.
