A spellbinding night at the 2017 Olivier Awards
The coveted 2017 Olivier Awards were held in London on Sunday night. It was new production Harry Potter & the Cursed Child which swept the board on the night taking a record breaking nine awards home. The Cursed Child has become the most decorated production in the honours’ history.
This included Best Actor for Jamie Parker, Best Sound Design, Best Set Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Costume Design, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Best New Play and Best Director.
Other winners on the night included Amber Riley for her role in Dreamgirls (Best Actress in a Musical), Adam J Bernard won Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for his part in Dreamgirls also.
The cast of children from School of Rock the Musical won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Music for playing live each night.
