Last ever episode of Downton Abbey – Trailer Revealed
The trailer for the final ever episode of Downton Abbey has been released ahead of the screening on Christmas Day, and by the looks of things it promises to be emotional.
We see the much loved Crawley family and servants as they prepare to see in the New Year in 1926 as the Abbey reaches its last ever evolution.
As Auld Lang Syne plays, the trailer suggests a sad farewell to previously troubled servant Barrow (who is heard in the trailer to say “I arrived here as a boy, I leave as a man”), whilst Lady Edith comes across ex-fiance Bertie Pelham, servant Daisy flees in tears, Lady Mary is seen with a rather pensive looking Henry Talbot, and a familiar face returns in the form of Lady Rose.
The trailer was yet to confirm whether Mr and Mrs Bates will welcome the arrival of their first child, who were heard to be celebrating ‘a day they have been waiting for’.
As usual, the last ever episode promises ‘Love, loss, happiness and heartbreak’. The two-hour long episode will be screened on ITV on Christmas Day at 8:45pm.
