Luton Airport Breaks Passenger Number Record
For the first time in its 77 year history, Luton Airport helped 12 million passengers in 12 months to depart on their holidays. Passengers using London’s fourth busiest airport rose from 9 million in 2013 to 12 million in 2015.
Over 1 million people flew through London Luton Airport in October, marking a 21.5% increase against the same period last year.
The latest figures mark 19 months of consecutive growth for the airport.
Work has begun on £110 million improvements and redevelopment to increase the capacity from 12 million to 18 million passengers per year by 2020.
