London tops list as most expensive capital city in Europe to stay
This week Travel Weekly named London as the most expensive capital city in Europe for hotel stays. With prices rising more than 7% to more than £144 per night over September 2015, this is almost than £20 more expensive than a stay in Copenhagen which was the second priciest capital.
Hotel stays in Oslo are at their lowest level in years with an average price of just £82.60, whilst rates in Italy’s capital of Rome also saw a steep decline to £68.
Other cities around the UK also saw movement in prices with Edinburgh and Coventry average prices falling 16% and 10% respectively.
Glasgow however, saw a rate rise of more than 22% to £99.99 followed by Nottingham.
