Falling into the all-inclusive trap

Falling into the all-inclusive trap

Currency exchange experts, Travelex, have found that British holidaymakers appear to overspend by £100 when on all-inclusive breaks.

This overspend is due to surprise costs with four out of ten Brits having to provide extra holiday spending money. At least one out of ten people surveyed were stung by extra costs rising to almost £200. Part of the reason for this is because they choose to exchange their currency whilst at the hotel instead of shopping around on the High Street before leaving for their holiday. It is a well -known fact that the exchange rate at resort hotels is significantly less than what you would probably get at home before travelling. It is always wise to sort out your currency requirements before leaving home so you can take advantage of the better exchange rates.

With the current economic climate, UK families are continually facing financial struggles which is one of the reasons why the all-inclusive break is proving to be a popular holiday choice with a 14% rise in bookings compared to the same period in 2012. The study by Travelex has shown that two thirds of Brits choose an all-inclusive break because they provide good value for money. At least 60% prefer an all-inclusive break because everything is included. However, it is worth sorting out your currency before leaving home so you have enough small change to pay for taxis, extra food and tips.
