Opening in early 2017, The Girls is the true story of Yorkshire’s original Calendar Girls – a group of Women’s Institute ladies who achieved something extra-ordinary. The story of the Calendar Girls began in 1998 when Angela’s husband John was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer non-Hodgkin lymphoma. John sadly passed away a few months later, soon after Angela and her friends set about creating their famous calendar. It attracted national press attention and as a result, it has now raised millions of pounds for Bloodwise (formerly known as Lymphoma & Lymphoma Research).
The cast of The Girls currently includes Debbie Chazen, James Gaddas, Michele Dotrice and many more. Gary Barlow and Tim Firth have co-written the production.
Money from ticket sales of each performance of the play, plus that from sales of merchandise and collection buckets is donated to Bloodwise.
Coach packages to see The Girls are available from £173, this includes coach travel throughout, one night's Bed & Breakfast accommodation in a four-star standard Greater London Area Hotel and a ticket to see the Girls.
