It's extremely fascinating to see a show whereby the performers create music through the use of everyday props such as metal bins, lids, floor mops and so much more. Stomp was created back in the 1980's when it's creators Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell were working together on a variety of street dance musicals. From these humble beginnings, Stomp Musical London has grown in popularity with fans from all around the world descending upon theatres to see this fabulous show. Stomp was transformed into a short film that was nominated for an Oscar and there's even a version of the show to be seen in Las Vegas.
Due to its huge popularity, more than 100 performers now take part in Stomp the Musical which in the summer of 2012, wowed millions more at the closing ceremony of The Olympics with its toe-tapping combination of rhythm, theatre, comedy and dance. This talented troupe of performers are able to make awesome musical sounds out of the average piece of junk such as bin lids and even the kitchen sink!
Although there is no actual story to follow, Stomp makes up for this absence with an abundance of performers all with their unique personalities trying to a win a game of one-upmanship between each other. There's an element of slapstick and good humour which you, the audience, should find entertaining as well as amazing surround sound so you can really enjoy the talent that's on display.
