To celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday this year, there will be a series of three exhibitions staged across the Queen’s residences around the country in 2016 and 2017. The new ‘Fashioning a Reign’ exhibition will chart a number of significant events throughout the Queen’s 90 years. The exhibition will display a series of clothes and accessories from special occasions from childhood to present day.
The display will be the largest collection of the Queen’s clothing and will be on display at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh from 21st April until 16th October. The largest of the exhibitions will be in Buckingham Palace for the Summer Opening from 23rd July to 2nd October and the last of the three will open at Windsor Castle from 17 September until 8 Janaury 2017.
The exhibition will display 150 outfits worn by the Queen across the three locations, each with specially assigned outfits chosen due to their occasion to the location.
Coach breaks are available to Buckingham Palace for the Summer Opening, breaks to Edinburgh are also on sale and could incorporate a visit to Holyroodhouse. Windsor Castle packages are also available throughout the year.
