TV Themed Coach Holidays for 2015 – 2016
With the final series of Downton Abbey kicking off this Sunday and Doctor Who starting again on Saturday, we thought we would look at some of the great TV & Film breaks we have available at Door2Tour.com.
We were just as gutted as the rest of the Downton fans when we heard that the sixth series would be the final one to grace our screens. We’ve been on quite a journey with the Grantham’s and seen a lot of historical events from the early 1900’s including Titanic sinking, World War 1, the Suffragette movement and much more. One constant throughout is that of Downton Abbey itself, more formerly known as Highclere Castle.
Home to the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, Highclere Castle is open for limited periods each year and tickets are literally like gold dust. To ensure you can visit check out our Downton Abbey Tours today.
When Corrie filming moved to a new studio, the old set which had been used for years was opened to the public. Fan flocked from far and wide to walk the famous Cobbles for themselves and pull a pint behind the Rovers bar. Sadly, like all good things, it must come to an end and the Tour will close in December 2015.
We still have limited availability on some Coronation Street tours, call us on 0845 956 9686 to check what packages are still available.
Explore the beautiful Cornwall coast, setting of BBC’s newest hit show Poldark. Inspired by author Winston Grahams famous novels, the new series is a remake of the popular 1970’s hit show. Tours include visits to Cornwall towns such as Padstow, Charleston, Land’s End and St Just. Not forgetting the Lizard Peninsula.

Returning to BBC One this Saturday, Doctor Who promises to be full of more great drama and adventure. The first episode aptly named ‘The Magician’s Apprentice’ will have Whovians across the globe in a frenzy.
To get closer to all things Doctor Who a visit to Cardiff is a must. Housed in a specially constructed facility, the Doctor Who Experience offers a unique and exciting journey into 50 years of adventures. Find out more about our Doctor Who Experience Tour here.
Call the Midwife
Sunday night favourite ‘Call the Midwife’ will be returning to our screens in early 2016 and before then we will have the 2015 Christmas Special to enjoy (ironically it has already been filmed back in May!) Chatham Dockyards in Kent is where the majority of the outside filming takes place with the scenes of the midwifes on their bicycles riding through Poplar being filmed there.
You can take a tour of the famous streets on the Call the Midwife tour, find out more here.
Brand new for 2015, the Emmerdale tour on the real set in the ground of Harewood House was a sell-out. Originally only open for 12 days, the tour allows visitors to see the famous Woolpack, as well as the outside of the Vets Surgery and much more. Some tours on sale also include a visit to Esholt where the Soap was first filmed until 1997.
