If this isn't enough to visit York on any coach tours of England, then the York Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe and the largest of its kind in England, should be. Two million people walk under its gothic archway every year to admire the dizzyingly high ceilings, 128 striking stained glass windows, some of which date back to the 12th century, and to climb Central Tower affording awe-inspiring views over the city. The Jorvik Viking Centre is built on the site of the remains of part of Viking York and offers visitors a chance to stroll down reconstructed Viking streets, take in the exhibitions or come face to face with a Viking! Close to the train station, the National Railway Museum boasts memorabilia from coaches used by the Queen to a lock of Robert Stephenson’s hair!
- Meander through the city's twisting, atmopsheric streets on your coach holidays in York before making yourself at home in one of the charming tearooms or a traditional English pub.
