A recent poll carried out at the World Travel Market has found that the over-60s are not going to give up their holiday simply because of the recession. Many are spending their children’s inheritance on the basis of ‘living today as who knows what tomorrow may bring’!

Greenlight has again analysed the natural search results for UK markets on Google and has found that ‘Turkey Holidays’ is the most popular destination specific term in July 2009 accounting for 637,000 searches (6%).

The rise in Air Passenger Duty is likely to mean that fewer British holidaymakers (more than half) will be travelling overseas for their holidays in 2010. The poll of 1,030 people for the World Travel Market shows that 13% would stop overseas travel all together.
