Excursions

Buckfast Abbey, South Devon Railway & Totnes (full day)
Home to a community of Benedictine monks, Buckfast Abbey lies on the banks of the River Dart. Here, we have the chance to explore the Abbey church with its art treasures, wander the tranquil gardens or browse the gift and produce shops.

We then experience a nostalgic journey on the South Devon Railway, travelling through delightful countryside from Buckfastleigh to Totnes and back. Finally we rejoin the coach and head to the charming market town of Totnes for time at leisure. Located on the River Dart, the town boasts a Norman motte and bailey castle which commands spectacular views of the Dart Valley.

Cruising the River Exe & Exmouth (full day)
We start the day with a cruise of the River Exe estuary where we can admire the stunning scenery including the start of the Jurassic Coast, possibly spot some of the beautiful wildlife and hear about the fascinating history of the surrounding towns and villages.

We then enjoy some free time in the picturesque holiday resort of Exmouth, a bustling little town with a vibrant shopping centre, a lovely small harbour and many bars and cafés.
 Dartmoor & Plymouth - £8.99pp (full day)
Join our optional excursion where we head first to Dartmoor, a vast area of moorland situated right in the heart of Devon. It is a very peaceful place with stunning views, deep wooded valleys and fast flowing rivers. Watch out for the wild Dartmoor ponies that roam freely and play an important part in the local habitat.

Our second stop is Plymouth, a handsome city with a wonderful waterfront that houses the historic Barbican and Sutton Harbour.

Accomodation

We’ll stay at one of four well-appointed hotels. All hotels offer en-suite rooms with tea and coffee-making facilities as well as a pleasant bar and restaurant.

The welcoming, family-run Seascape Hotel is situated close to Torquay town centre, Torre Abbey Sands beach and the promenade, and offers nice views across the bay.

The family-run Coppice Hotel is ideally located between Torquay harbour and Babbacombe beach. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, a heated indoor pool, lovely gardens and sun terraces.

The comfortable Torbay Court Hotel is located in a quiet cul-de-sac just a few minutes’ walk from Paignton seafront. All the bedrooms are served by a lift and offer free view TV and free Wi-Fi.

The Rainbow International Hotel is located in the heart of Torquay, close to many amenities of the resort. The hotel offers a library lounge and indoor, heated swimming pool.
