Coach Itinerary

Buckfast Abbey, South Devon Railway & Totnes (full day)
Home to a community of Benedictine monks, Buckfast Abbey lies on the banks of the River Dart. Here, we have the chance to explore the Abbey church with its art treasures, wander the tranquil gardens or browse the gift and produce shops.

We then experience a nostalgic journey on the South Devon Railway, travelling through delightful countryside from Buckfastleigh to Totnes and back. Finally we rejoin the coach and head to the charming market town of Totnes for time at leisure. Located on the River Dart, the town boasts a Norman motte and bailey castle which commands spectacular views of the Dart Valley.

Cruising the River Exe & Exmouth (full day)
We start the day with a cruise of the River Exe estuary where we can admire the stunning scenery including the start of the Jurassic Coast, possibly spot some of the beautiful wildlife and hear about the fascinating history of the surrounding towns and villages.

We then enjoy some free time in the picturesque holiday resort of Exmouth, a bustling little town with a vibrant shopping centre, a lovely small harbour and many bars and cafés.

Optional Excursion
Dartmoor & Plymouth - £8.99pp (full day)
Join our optional excursion where we head first to Dartmoor, a vast area of moorland situated right in the heart of Devon. It is a very peaceful place with stunning views, deep wooded valleys and fast flowing rivers. Watch out for the wild Dartmoor ponies that roam freely and play an important part in the local habitat.

Our second stop is Plymouth, a handsome city with a wonderful waterfront that houses the historic Barbican and Sutton Harbour.

JG2, JG2+ & JG3

Hotels with a JG2 rating are a mixture of larger hotels and privately owned properties. Décor and furnishings may be simple but are well maintained. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels. Services may be limited but efficient.

JG2+ rated hotels offer a higher standard of hospitality, often by the friendly owner or manager and often with good home cooking plus enhanced décor, facilities and services. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels. These hotels have proven to deliver a higher level of satisfaction according to our customer feedback surveys.

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, with a greater range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are a little more spacious and have additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, a bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or with waiter service.
