- UK/Yasmine Hammamet - 1
Depart on your scheduled flight to Tunis.
Transfer to your resort hotel for an overnight
stay on a half board basis. - Monastir/El Jem - 2
After breakfast depart for Monastir where
you pay a visit to the Ribat – a fortified
monastery which dates from the eighth
century. You will also visit the grand, gilded
roofed, mausoleum of Habib Bourguiba
before an included lunch in the lively
atmosphere of the medina. Later we move
on to El Jem, Tunisia’s foremost attraction
with a splendid Roman Amphitheatre. This
afternoon we make our way to Sfax, on the
coast, for an overnight stay. - Matmata/Douz/Tozeur - 3
Today we drive to Matmata where you will
visit the underground houses which date
back to the 4th century BC and are still
inhabited. We continue on to Douz where
there is the option to experience a camel
ride into the vast Sahara Desert. We then
move on to Tozeur where you will visit the
Dar Chraiet museum of art and culture. The
building is a beautiful sight with intricate
stone carving adorning the outer walls of
the structure. You will stay in Tozeur for the
next two nights. Enjoy dinner this evening at
your hotel. - Red Lizard train/Chebika/ Tamerza & Ong Jmel - 4
Today’s included excursion is a remarkable
journey into the desert. After breakfast take
an optional carriage ride across the Oases
before travelling to Metlaoui to join the Red
Lizard train. This delightful colonial-style
train transports you through the dramatic
Selja Canyon. After lunch continue your
adventure further and join the optional fourwheel
drive vehicle tour to the mountain
oases of Tamerza, Chebika and Ong Jmel,
used as a backdrop for the Star Wars
movies. Relax this evening and enjoy dinner
at your hotel in Tozeur. - Kairouan/Yasmine Hammamet - 5
Following breakfast this morning we
depart for Kairouan, the once capital of
the Maghreb region. We will stop for lunch
(included) before exploring the enticing souk
where you will find a vast array of goods
including fresh produce, colourful spice,
skillfully woven fabrics and carpets, leather
goods and ceramic items. Later we move
on to Yasmine Hammamet for three nights. - Old Hammamet - 6
This morning enjoy the included excursion
to old Hammamet to visit the bustling
markets in the medina, the Spanish
Fortress and the 13th century kasbah.
This afternoon enjoy some time to relax in
the surroundings of your hotel or explore
at your own pace. Yasmine Hammamet
is in a desirable location with easy access
to the picturesque town and the sandy
beaches with their clear tempting waters.
This evening you may wish to join the
optional trip to a traditional folklore show. - Tunis City/Yasmine Hammamet - 7
This morning we include a visit to Tunis,
where you will see the ancient medina, with
its lively souks and narrow alleys. Tunis
embraces African and European influences
making this an interesting and diverse
city to experience. Continue to the Bardo
Archaeological Museum, which houses an
outstanding collection of Roman mosaics
before we explore the ancient ruins of
Carthage. The city was founded in the ninth
century BC and now boasts the status
of UNESCO World Heritage site. The site
includes influences from the Punic, Roman,
Vandal, Paleochristian and Arab periods –
this excursion brings a fascinating aspect to
your holiday. - Tunis/UK - 8
Transfer to the airport for your return flight
to the UK, or choose our beach Add-On for
a further three nights.
