A recent poll by lastminute.com has shown that the French tend to spend more on their annual family holiday compared to the rest of Europe. They spend on average £1418 on a two-week family trip. The Germans were second in the poll spending £1081 with us Brits in third place spending £898. The Italians are deemed the stingiest by reigning in their spending power before and during their holidays.
Out of the 2,000 holidaymakers who took part in the poll, approximately 10% of British tourists are very happy to hold off booking their holiday in favour of a last minute deal. It would appear that at least one in ten Brits will wait literally until the very last minute to book a holiday with many hopping onto a plane just hours after completing the booking.
