The rumour mill is in full swing with weather forecasters predicting that we’ll experience a barbecue summer this year. As a result, there has been a sudden rush for coach holiday bookings that depart in the autumn.
A recent poll by another travel website of 1,092 people has shown that the majority (56%) are postponing their summer coach holidays until the autumn so that they can take full advantage of the expected barbecue summer that so many are predicting for 2011. Holidays are also much cheaper in the autumn which will be an added bonus to those families looking to make savings.
The breakdown for reasons why so many are postponing their summer break for autumn coach holidays instead are:
• Cheaper holidays later in the year – 42%
• Expecting the UK summer to be hot – 37%
• Work reasons (holiday availability) – 21%
• No particular reason – 19%
• Have longer to save up money – 8%
• Other reasons – 5%
The recent bout of warm weather has made people feel optimistic about the impending British summertime and many want to stick around to make the most of it therefore postponing their summer coach holidays for an autumn break instead. Let’s just hope that the Barbecue summer materialises this year!
