His visit to Europe will be his eighth back-packing trip since he started travelling solo at the age of 85. His two month itinerary so far features visits to
Madrid, San Sebastian,
Paris, Munich, Vienna and a trip to the
UK to experience racing at
Royal Ascot.
Mr Wright, a veteran of the Second World War, claims he has always had the urge to travel and when his wife sadly passed away, he decided to sell his house and visit
Gallipoli on Anzac Day. Since then, he has travelled the world on a strict budget making sure that he saves his pennies throughout the year for his flights and accommodation. He also says that he sees things other tourists would normally miss because he chooses to walk the back streets of the places he visits or by taking buses/trains to nearby towns for the day – it pays to go off the tourist trail every now & again!
Fancy following in Keith Wright’s footsteps? There’s a wide range of
European holidays to whet your appetite and once you’ve got a taste for travelling, check out
