NYC is popular cruise port

20/09/2011
A recent survey of British cruisers has shown that New York City is their favourite port as opposed to Venice.

The survey commissioned by the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA) has shown that the mighty ‘Big Apple’ has knocked Venice off the top spot for the first time in two years. At least one in five British adults named New York as their favourite port of call. Approx. 13% voted for Venice with a tie for third place between Barcelona, Rome and Singapore – each gaining 7% of the votes.

It is thought that approx. 1.7m Brits will go cruising in 2011 with at least 57% saying that the main attraction of cruise holidays is that you get to visit a number of destinations in one trip. They also said that it was great being able to unpack just the once and then be able to get on with their cruise holidays. Other pluses to cruising is the all-inclusive nature of the holiday and at least 35% said that they loved waking up in a new destination each morning.

As you can see cruise holidays are definitely increasing in popularity so if you’ve never experienced one before why not try out Mini Cruises first to see what you think. You’ll probably fall in love with the idea of cruising so why not progress to River Cruise Holidays and experience the beautiful Rhine Valley or the spectacular Fjords of Norway.  There are a whole range of wonderful destinations to visit in the UK, Europe and Worldwide on cruise holidays so check out Door2Tour.com or give our team a quick call on 0845 956 9686 to find out more.
