The top inbound markets continued to be
Canada and Mexico. But four other regional markets brought in record levels of visitors in 2010 and these include: South America,
Oceania, the
Middle East and
Africa.
Asia,
South America, Oceania and the Middle East underwent the strongest growth in 2010. This was due to the record level of arrivals from countries such as Brazil, South Korea, Australia,
China,
India and Colombia.
Annual overseas arrivals (excluding Canada and Mexico) increased by 11 % in 2010 compared to 2009, totalling 26.4 million visitors. Travel from overseas markets was credited for at least 44 % of the total arrivals on
USA touring holidays.
