Why we hear you ask? The reason being is because St Marys Church located in Edwinstone, Nottingham was the place where legend says that Robin Hood is supposed to have married his Maid Marian. The couple’s journey began in Holland and they ended up travelling a fair few miles to achieve their dream wedding.

The ceremony featured archery and minstrel music followed by a medieval banquet. Their wedding cake was also slightly different to most couples because the usual figurines of the bride and groom were replaced by statues of Robin Hood and his Maid Marian. They completed their ceremony with the traditional slicing of the Wedding Cake but with a slight twist – the couple chose to cut it with a medieval sword!
