Flowers cause a right royal queue at the Abbey

04/05/2011
Queues have been stretching around Westminster Abbey since Saturday with visitors flocking to catch a glimpse of the Duchess of Cambridge’s bridal bouquet.

The bouquet held by Catherine Middleton consists of white British lily of the valley flowers and now lies on the grave of the unknown warrior, in line with tradition.

Westminster Abbey has always been known for its Royal weddings, but the bouquets, trees and foliage used for the recent wedding received a lot of press on their own. With queues stretching as far as the Houses of Parliament (up to 300 meters away), visitors should prepare to allow plenty of time for this sight. An eyewitness who was walking past the Abbey on Monday couldn't believe their eyes, telling the BBC: “The Queues were reaching the Houses of Parliament.”

Foliage from the wedding will be on display at Westminster Abbey until 6th May.

See it with your own eyes on our London city breaks or Theatre Weekends.
