Edwards Coaches Ltd placed the final piece of their very own ‘Grand Slam’ by adding the award for ‘Best Coach Operator’ at the UK wide 2012 Group Travel Awards as voted by the readers of the Group Travel Organiser Magazine to their ever growing trophy cabinet.
To date in 2012 Edwards Coaches have been recognized as best in the UK at a number of award ceremonies for their commitment to service and quality including:
1. ‘Coach Tour Operator of the Year’ Group Travel Awards
2. ‘Coach Tour Operator of the Year’ at the Coach Tourism Awards
3. ‘Best Coach Operator of the Year, 11-15 vehicles’ at the UK wide National Express Awards
4. ‘Director of the Year (in a family business)’ at the IoD Wales Awards
Business Minister Edwina Hart who met Mr. Edwards congratulated the company on winning their latest award for ‘Coach Tour Operator of the Year’. She commented: “I am delighted to hear that Edwards Coaches – a Welsh business – has been selected for this prestigious award which recognises the company’s on-going commitment to providing the highest level of service to all their customers. High quality customer care is essential for any successful business and particularly important for those working in the tourism industry as they act as ambassadors for Wales. The very latest awards celebration took place at the prestigious Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, London and recognised a wide selection of industries throughout Group Travel. The event is always a highlight on the Coach Industries calendar with over 400 guests in attendance from across all aspects of tourism.
The top award at the event is generally seen as the ‘Best Coach Operator’ which is voted for by the readers of the Group Travel Organiser Magazine. Thirteen companies from across the UK were short listed for the award all eagerly awaiting the coveted words ‘and the winner is…’. To present the award at this year’s ceremony was the highly regarded Simon Calder, Travel Editor of the Independent Newspaper and BBC Travel Advisor who announced Edwards Coaches Ltd as the 2012 winner.
Commercial Director Jason Edwards spoke about the year so far and the awards won “This year has been outstanding for Edwards Coaches as a company, the recognition we have received across all departments pays tribute to the time and effort every member of staff puts in, day in day out, and I would like to extend thanks to them all for one big team effort.”
“To win this final award and secure our ‘Grand Slam’ year is something that our staff and Wales can be extremely proud and honoured of. From our records this is the first time a company has ever received all three major awards in the same year.”

He spoke of the recent win Group Travel award “To win this award for the second year running shows just how far we have come over recent years having experienced fantastic growth. But, we are still proud to say we are a local family run company and feel this personal touch has brought us our success.”
