The rise in Air Passenger Duty is likely to mean that fewer British holidaymakers (more than half) will be travelling overseas for their holidays in 2010. The poll of 1,030 people for the World Travel Market shows that 13% would stop overseas travel all together.
Air Passenger Duty is going to increase by a minimum of 10% this year before going up even more in November 2010. Younger holidaymakers are most likely to reduce their holiday plans with 60% of 16-24 and 53% of 25-40 year olds opposed to the rise in Air Passenger Duty. Many believe that this tax should be abolished due to the affect it will have on both inbound & outbound tourism in the UK.
With Air Passenger Duty on the rise, now is the time to take holidays by air to European & Worldwide destinations that you have always wanted to explore. Perhaps enjoy a city break to Istanbul, spend Christmas & New Year in Vancouver & The Rockies, see the wonders of The Nile, cruise The Caribbean, explore the alpine splendour with coach holidays to Switzerland, relax on the golden beaches with escorted coach tours to Spain or discover the sights of Paris. If Air Passenger Duty is too much then why not take join UK coach holidays and enjoy a staycation?
