This pretty resort has a historical feel to it and the advantage of being surrounded by beautiful scenery. Meiringen is home to the Reichenbach Falls and full of Sherlock Holmes stories as well as Meringue, where it was reputedly first made!
This delightful village is nestled in an open valley below the infamous Reichenback falls and surrounded by a number of towering peaks. The village has lots of lovely shops, cafés and is surrounded by the most spectacular scenery and green fields. The resort is still relatively flat and easy to walk around and with easy road access to a variety of nearby areas; this area provides numerous excursion possibilities.
